I'm in the process of becoming an accessibility champion through work. What is that? I'm glad you asked! It means that I am learning about ways that I can be deliberate about considering the needs of and being an advocate for people with disabilities. The book I'm reading as part of the process is Demystifying Disability, by Emily Ladau. I'm halfway through, and already I am learning about better ways I can consider the needs of the disabled community in my work and personal life. I checked out the book from the Chandler Public Library, so if you don't want to purchase a copy, know it's available for you at no cost. I think we should all become more aware of how we can better support ALL people in everything that we do.
