ompany was bought by a larger firm. They asked me to do everything over with their name and logo. And you guessed it! Luckily, by this time, other people had seen my work and asked me to do projects for them. That was good since I was losing my mind doing the same boring technical data sheets for the third time! I continued doing support work for George also. There was enough work that I couldn’t get everything done quickly. George came up with the idea of looking for independent contractors. He ran an ad in the Ahwatukee News, a neighborhood paper, looking for help. The response was great. I met people that had excellent computer skills but didn’t want a full-time job. Some were stay-at-home moms. Some were small business owners who hated marketing themselves. I would meet with the client, prep the project, discuss it with the contractor who would complete the work. I was in charge of quality control. Much of our original work was in the construction industry, but we quickly expanded to other industries. As needs arose, we learned new technologies so we could build and maintain web sites, set up email marketing campaigns or do Search Engine Optimization.
