Just wrapped up a comprehensive outdoor living upgrade, taking this patio cover from a weathered, unfinished surface to a high-end, resort-quality architectural feature. 📸🪵
This project was a build focused entirely on meticulous surface preparation, mechanical integrity, and precision finish carpentry. 🛠️💪

🔍 Project Scope & Ex*****on Breakdown:
Demolition & Structural Re-Engineering: Began with a full tear-out of the old, degraded OSB paneling. Re-leveled and prepped the structural joists to establish a dead-flat framing field so the new ceiling plane would sit perfectly parallel without any snaking or drifting.
Four-Step Material Preparation: Every piece of premium clear cedar tongue-and-groove stock was individually hand-sanded, air-blown free of dust, and completely flooded on all four sides with clear oil. Pre-sealing all faces ensures full climate protection and brings out the deep, natural amber tones of the wood grain.
Mechanical & Ventilation Upgrades: To protect the structural integrity of the home, the existing attic soffit vents were extended down to the new ceiling line to maintain code-compliant airflow. The HVAC PVC condensation drain line was also modified, sloped, and cleanly rerouted completely away from the finished woodwork to eliminate any future moisture or staining risks. 💨💧
Electrical Expansion & Finish Details: Upgraded and expanded the electrical layout to a symmetrical, dual-box configuration to flush-mount two multi-blade ceiling fans. The entire cedar field was then locked in with a crisp, custom perimeter trim band to mask expansion gaps and provide a sharp, clean transition against the stucco wall. 🔌🎐
