A warm Winter Solstice in Telluride

I’ve been getting a bit frustrated at all the amazing sunrises and sunsets we’ve been getting the past couple weeks because of the severe lack of snow on the ground to round out a nice picture. Gator don’t play no brown grass and poopy dirt foregrounds!

However I had a dear friend reach out about commissioning a specific composition he wants printed, so I figured what better way to enjoy the solstice than to go out and test out some Orion glamor shots over the resort! It was definitely the inspirational push I needed and now I have so many ideas for compositions and time lapses once the snow finally returns 😁

Just got back home to Colorado after a quick little 48 hour trip to the Midwest to shoot another run.

I seriously can’t get enough of these guys; their music is like the puzzle piece that was designed to fit perfectly in my auditory cortex. No one makes me dance and smile so hard that my body and face are sore leaving the show.

I am forever grateful for all the new friends I’ve made, places I’ve visited, and opportunities to progress my photography career over the past 8 years of seeing this band. Almost nothing in this world makes me happier than being lost deep in an untzy groove and looking around to see all my friends, new and old, getting tf down with the biggest smiles on their faces. In these fleeting moments all the troubles in my head and the world around me completely melt away. These are the moments I live for. 🫠

Twilight Over Twilight

This one was a bonus shot of Twilight Peak from the aforementioned Turret & Pigeon trek in the Weminuche Wilderness last year over Labor Day weekend. We stayed at this lake on our last night before catching the train back to Durango and this reflection seemed too good to pass up for sunrise the next morning!

Thought I’d share another one of my favorite vantage point of the peaks I shared 2 days ago. This one was from a backpacking trip me and my husband took to get away from the chaos a week before our wedding back in 2023. Not only did we get a peaceful disconnect from the pre-wedding chaos, but the fishing was great and I got the best sunset conditions yet from my many trips to this lake!
