Gan Rina Nursery

We take this trip every year and it never gets old... 2 Weeks in Israel, flying out, visiting the Old City, swimming at the Dead Sea, working on a Kibbutz, shopping at the shuk, and rounding it all off with an amazing 75th birthday celebration with music and dancing together.

Channukah is almost here!
We have had an amazing time here at Gan Rina Nursery getting ready, creating projects, singing songs, dancing, cooking, and even building our very own Bait Hamikdash from blocks...

While the Channukiot our children create do not light with fire we do take time to review our Fire Safety this time of year.

Wishing everyone a happy, safe, and bright Channukah!

o Place the Channukia on a level, fire-retardant surface.
o Channukiot should be out of reach from children and pets.
o Never place a Channukia near curtains, drapes or under a combustible cabinet.
o A lit Channukia should not be left unattended.
o The aforementioned also applies to Shabbat and Yahrzeit candles.
o When cooking latkes, don’t leave heated oil unattended.
o Keep children at a safe distance from hot oil which might splatter.
o If cooking oil catches fire, turn off the gas or electric range and cover the pan with its lid, if at no risk to yourself. Never throw water or a wet towel on an oil fire, as that will cause the hot oil to splatter on you or ignite something nearby.
o Make sure any plugged in lights/ hotplates/ crockpots etc… are plugged into the appropriate outlet/timer/ surge protector or the wattage listed on the item. Not all timers or surge protectors can handle the high wattage of these items.
o If a flame falls or if your children see a fire in the house they have been instructed to call for you and then go outside to wait on the lawn until you tell them it is safe to come inside.

Time is really flying by here at Gan Rina Nursery. We cant believe we are already 2 months into the school year and that registration for next year has already begun!
