NOW HIRING – COME GROW WITH US!
MI Custom Signs is growing, and we’re looking for motivated people who want to be part of a great team creating custom signs, vehicle wraps, graphics, fabrication projects, and more.
We’re currently hiring:
• Graphic Designers
• Sign Installers
• Wrap Installers (Experience Preferred)
• Wrap & Sign Installation Helpers (Entry-Level Position)
• Sign Fabricators (Experience Required)
Graphic Designers must be creative thinkers and strong problem solvers. This position is about much more than making things look good. You’ll work with customers, sales staff, production teams, and installers to turn ideas into real-world products. The ideal candidate can think outside the box, communicate visually, adapt quickly, manage multiple projects, and create designs that are both eye-catching and production-ready. If you enjoy solving challenges, bringing concepts to life, and seeing your work displayed on buildings, vehicles, and businesses throughout the community, this could be the perfect fit.
Sign Installers and Wrap Installers must have a get-it-done attitude and take pride in their work. We’re not looking for clock-watchers. We’re looking for problem-solvers—people who take ownership, finish what they start, and do whatever it takes to get the job done right. Every installation presents unique challenges, so the ability to adapt, think on your feet, work safely, and represent MI Custom Signs professionally is essential.
Wrap Helpers are an entry-level position and a great opportunity for someone looking to learn the trade from experienced professionals.
Sign Fabricators must have experience building, assembling, welding, problem-solving, and thinking through custom projects from start to finish. Every project is different, so the ability to adapt, troubleshoot, and create solutions is essential.
We’re a custom shop. That means no two days are the same. While you may be hired for a specific role, everyone jumps in where needed to help the team succeed. If you enjoy variety, learning new skills, and taking pride in your work, you’ll fit right in.
Requirements:
• Positive attitude
• Reliable transportation
• Team-player mentality
• Willingness to learn and grow
• Pride in your work

One last job…

Sometimes the most challenging part of a sign project isn’t building the sign—it’s getting permission to install it.
After years of discussions, revisions, reviews, and navigating the permitting process, the final solution for Western Glass was not a new sign at all. Instead, the existing sign structure was removed and replaced with a new light pole.
Western Glass has been serving Detroit for decades and remains a well-established business with building signage and a reputation that speaks for itself. They’ll continue doing what they’ve always done—taking care of customers and delivering quality work.
While the outcome wasn’t what anyone originally envisioned, we’re proud of the work our crew completed safely and professionally. Sometimes progress comes in unexpected forms.
Here are a few photos from the transformation.

Fresh new look for the waterfront.
We were proud to design, fabricate, and install the new signage for Latitudes in Wyandotte, Michigan. The illuminated sailboat logo, dimensional lettering, and custom fitment all came together perfectly against the marina backdrop.
Projects like this are why we love what we do — turning a business frontage into something people notice the second they pull in by boat or by car.
Huge shoutout to our crew for another clean install and to the team at Latitudes for trusting MI Custom Signs with the vision.
If you’re in the area, stop by, grab a drink, and check out the new sign in person.

Another project officially completed in the City of Wyandotte.
Our team has finished the installation of the new electronic LED messaging boards at Fort & Eureka and Eureka & Third. These boards are BIG, bright, and built to serve the community for years to come. Like any major install, it takes a little time to button everything up and get every detail dialed in — but now they’re fully up, running, and looking incredible.
This project means a little extra to us because our fabrication building has called Wyandotte home for many years. Being able to complete a project this visible in a city tied closely to our company is something we’re truly proud of.
One of the coolest moments during the install came from a Wyandotte resident who stopped by and brought our crew ice cream while we worked. Small gestures like that say a lot about the kind of community Wyandotte is.
What makes this even more special is that one of the previous signs stood proudly for about 25 years after originally being installed by Townsend Neon. That’s an incredible run, and we’re honored to carry the torch forward. Here’s to another 25 years serving the community.
Proud of our crew, grateful for the opportunity, and thankful to the City of Wyandotte for trusting us with such an important project.
Ever wonder how sign panels start out? 👀
This giant roll of Lexan/polycarbonate comes tightly wound with serious tension built into it. When we unstrap it and start unraveling it in slow motion, you can actually see the stored energy releasing as it naturally wants to spring back into shape. Pretty wild to watch in person.
This is the material we use for durable sign faces and panels — lightweight, tough, weather resistant, and built to handle Michigan seasons. The bigger the roll, the more muscle (and patience 😅) it takes to control it safely.
Behind every clean sign install is a whole lot of material handling most people never get to see!

No magic elves.
No shortcuts.
Just vision, craftsmanship, and a guy named Jon who rolled up his sleeves and made it happen.
River of Life is leveling up, and these new wall graphics are more than signs — they’re statements. Clean. Bold. Purpose-driven. From the sleek restroom signage to the massive “Enlarge Your Tent” install, every detail was brought to life with intention and excellence.
This place is becoming something special, and watching the vision take shape on the walls is powerful.
Proud of the work.
Proud of the team.
Proud to help create spaces that inspire people the moment they walk through the doors.
