Evening Meditation:
On December 25, 1952, Queen Elizabeth II gave her first Christmas message to the people of the United Kingdom. During her speech, she made mention of her upcoming coronation, and she requested that her people pray for her to lead by God in her service to Him and to the country:
“I want to ask you all, whatever your religion may be, to pray that [on the day of my coronation] God may give me wisdom and strength to carry out the solemn promises I shall be making, and that I may faithfully serve Him and you, all the days of my life.”
