We are seeking Material Handlers for a client in Lakeland, FL to work first and second shift. This is a temp-permanent position which means you will convert over full time with the client after 90 days of employment. You must be able to work 6:30 AM-3:00 PM or 12:30PM -8:00 PM with OT being an option (1 week training will take place during the first shift).

Summary:

Ensure proper cutting and packaging of material produced in the Production Department according to customer’s orders and shipping requirements. On-going communication with the Production Manager, Packaging Group Leaders and packaging staff. Major challenge involves coordinating material and setting-up equipment to produce product as needed for loading out of the Packaging Department.

Maintain efficient and safe operation of the production equipment.
Must be able to read and comprehend customer orders and specifications.
Perform dimensional QC checks using a tape measure. Must also become familiar with our products to visually and manually inspect the material for proper quality.
Must report conditions to production manager and/or maintenance staff that may affect line operation.
Must communicate with group leaders and loading personnel to find out what priorities are needed for scheduling production for the line.
Must be able to physically move sheets and blocks of foam, up to 45 lbs
Qualifications:

Highschool Diploma or GED
Some previous machine operations is preferred but not required (on the job training is provided)
Read and interpret a tape measure
