Swamp mahogany rounds embedded in a matte white epoxy.
It took me some time to find the right color epoxy to use for this wood. When swamp mahogany is oiled it become a very rich dark red color. With this wood color, it really limits the contrasting color you can use.
This is my second time using this form from . I couldn’t recommend it enough. The reason why I ditched my old forms was because of how they were constructed.
Many of the forms out there have slanted rails. The reason for the slanted rails is so the finished piece can just slide out. However that means you will need to use extra epoxy to fill the void the slanted rails create. This excess epoxy is cut off to square the sides. BIG WASTE!
This form has build in seals and all rails are parallel with surface. No waste!
