is a go-getter's mantra. It's about being allergic to laziness, settling for nothing less than the best, and living the life you desire and deserve. It's about working hard, hustling and grinding to be the person you want to be, and having the life you want to live the way you want to live it. My name is Anthea Rolle and I live by this daily. I am not a nurse, a law student, or a marine. Those lif

Tip Tuesday!
Let’s Talk About Red ♥️ My Favorite Color 😍
In Haircolor, Red is both the hardest color to keep and one of the hardest colors to get rid of. Let me explain why RED gives us such problems...

When you first get your hair colored in red, you’ll notice how fast it fades. The reason for this is because the molecules in red hair color are much larger and heavier than all other colors. Therefore, red does not pe*****te the hair shaft as deeply (down to the cortex) as other hair colors. Instead, it stays closer to the surface of your hair shaft (the cuticle) and washes out the minute you wet your hair.

For my COPPER reds, you’ll notice that the red part of your hair color will wash out/fade out and then you’re left with a coppery gold blonde color.
For my FIRE-ENGINE reds, the vibrancy of your red will fade and it can look like the ashy 99J braiding hair that they sell in the beauty supply stores.
For my DARK reds- or burgundy beauties, your color will last the longest and take a tad longer to fade out, thanks to the amount of blue tones in your shade of red 💙.

The best way to maintain vibrancy in your red hair is to try to go as long as you can without washing your hair. Now, we already wash our hair on average about once a week or so, which is great 👍🏽!
Some tips for wash days are...
Wash with lukewarm water. Do Not Use Hot Water To Wash Your Hair
Use a Sulfate-free color safe shampoo when washing
Use a Red color conditioner to replace and replenish some of the red that was rinsed out after the shampoo
Get your hair colored often: Trust Me it does not hurt your hair or cause any damage when your only applying direct dye or a Demi-permanent

As a former proud red-head for at least 6 years, I’ve had my share of ups and downs with this hair color, so trust me, I know everything when it comes to maintaining Red.

If you’re thinking about getting some color, you need to speak to a professional before you make a decision. I’m offering In-Person and Virtual Consultations.
