How stoked we are to be sharing the stage with these guys again. It was 1994 at the Rhythm and Brews club in Indio CA, that we first encountered the Lowercase boys. Their parents dropped them off and we officially became their chaperones, playing many times at Jabberjaw and eventually bringing them on tour in 1996. They experienced much hazing and always kept a good can-do attitude. We were proud and still are.
See ya tonight!

Here we are in Austin TX, halfway through the Back to the Future of What tour.
A little merch rundown. Sorry it’s a little late.
We have these cool special edition 7”, a new t-shirt design, an old t-shirt design, and the usual old vinyl / CD / cassettes. Some buttons and patches.
We sold out of a limited edition poster and tote bag already.
All the new Future Reimagined designs were made by Justin’s very good actual human friend and tattoo artist Adam Craven. He has a shop in Portland OR called .
The old designs were made by Justin.
None of the designs were made by AI for those that are concerned.
We don’t use paper maps on tour anymore, however.

#12 in A Look Back at the Future: the Wild Weird Wonderful World of Unwound.
A bleak depressing account of a sad person using a lot of words starting with the letter D on a record with a number of songs that also start with D. This record has a number of songs in which the low e-string was tuned to something other then E. This song is tuned up to G. This allows the player to make dissonant chords easily and also has a nice drone effect.

#11 in A Look Back at The Future of What series hosted by David Attenborough.
Another song that is not so apparent what it’s about but definitely evokes a very dystopian feeling. What are these dogs - Fascists? Aliens? Actual dogs?
The riff could almost be a Devo intro but then sounds like a Nirvana parody after the band kicks in with a sort of hardcore shuffle beat and then devolves into a big mess by the end. For the recording aficionados: a Pignose amp was used for the guitar overdubs.

#10 in Unwound presents: The Past of Future Tense.
Another Minutemen reference with the title. The Minutemen were unique in that they referred to themselves by name (and other artists/musicians) in their songs, almost like characters - creating a more mythic aura around the band, especially if you only knew them through the recordings.
This track consists of Vern positioning his bass on top of the amp getting this particularly gratifying rumble.
