state laws (RCW 28B.15.05) and agreements made with the board of regents of the University of Washington, ASUWT bylaws, agreements made with the ASUW and ASUWB (Tri-campus agreement), and to the rules and guidelines established by the Open Public Meetings Act. The STFC generally funds:

*Computer Equipment, Printers, Scanners, and Other Computer-Related Items
*Audio-Visual Equipment and Software
*Training for Technical Related Skills and internet Connectivity
*Books on Tape, CD-ROMS, and Multimedia Learning Materials



Public Relations Committee:

Public Relations (PR) is responsible for all of student government's communication to the campus community at the University of Washington, Tacoma. The Public Relations Committee also represents the Senate to entities such as the Ledger and campus Administration. Within the Public Relations Committee are two sub-committees, consisting of the Graduation Committee, which is responsible for specific parts of graduation such as nominating a commencement speaker and student singer/speaker, and the ASUWT Events Committee, which is responsible for planning a quarterly OPF as well as any other events the committee decides. serves to keep the student government abreast about issues and laws coming before the local, state, and federal legislatures. In addition to this the LAC is responsible for scheduling law makers as special speakers for the campus community. The LAC has a student lobbyist whose job is to push for student interests in the legislature as determined necessary by the LAC. Lastly, the LAC is responsible for hosting the tri-campus committee, which is designed to keep open communication and dialogue between all three UW campuses (Tacoma, Bothell and Seattle). This committee is also involved in the recruitment and selection process surrounding the student regent, which is a position that is filled annually. Initiatives and Concerns Committee:

The role of the Initiatives and Concerns Committee (ICC) is to ensure the creation, expansion, and enhancement to new or existing programs as well as campus facilities. This committee also addresses any other student concerns that can be handled at the campus level as well as initiate facility improvements on the interiors and exteriors of campus facilities (i.e. student buildings/areas, landscaping, artwork, Fitness Center, Longshoreman's Hall, stairways, hallways, lounges, games, etc). The ICC maintains open lines of communication with the student body, Administration as well as off-campus community members to accomplish its goals.
