Market Report 7.9.2026

🌾Market Update🌾
Tomato production is expected to slowly increase over the next two weeks from South Carolina, Tennessee, and Virginia, while California supply remains strong. Mexico is lighter on round tomatoes, Roma supply is improving, and snacking tomatoes remain very short but are expected to improve over the next 2–3 weeks. Lime supply is easing as more volume crosses the border, though larger sizes remain limited.

⚠️Supply Pressure⚠️
Lettuce availability remains challenging through the summer as disease pressure continues to reduce harvestable acreage. Broccoli and cauliflower are tightening, while artichokes and fennel remain at extreme levels due to ongoing supply constraints. Melon availability remains limited, with volumes expected to improve in the coming weeks.

🍓Fruit Outlook🍓
Avocado supply remains stable with strong volume from Mexico, California, and Peru, though Mexico is expected to shift toward smaller sizes soon. Berry markets remain steady with strong quality, while blackberries continue to face limited supply. Citrus markets are seeing tight availability on smaller sizes, with lemons, navels, and valencias trending larger.

🚛Freight Watch🚛
Freight markets remain active as limited truck availability and record-high fuel costs continue to push rates higher. Fuel surcharges are increasing across transportation providers, adding pressure throughout the supply chain.

Market Report 7.2.2026

🌾Market Update🌾
Tomato production is expected to slowly increase over the next two weeks in South Carolina, Tennessee, and Virginia, while California supply remains strong. Mexico is lighter on round tomatoes, Roma supply is solid, and snacking tomatoes remain very short due to transition and strong pre-holiday demand. Lime supply is improving, but larger sizes (175s and up) remain extremely tight, and table grapes are tight during the Mexico-to-California transition.

⚠️Supply Pressure⚠️
Lettuce markets remain active, especially on iceberg, romaine, and romaine hearts, as disease pressure continues to limit harvestable acreage. Cauliflower and Asian cut broccoli crowns are escalated, with broccoli expected to tighten further as July progresses. Artichokes, fennel, Brussels sprouts, asparagus, and melons remain some of the most challenged items in the market.

🍓Fruit Outlook🍓
Avocado supply remains stable with good volume from Mexico, California, and Peru, though smaller sizes are expected to increase out of Mexico soon. Berry supplies are mixed but overall quality is strong, with strawberries and raspberries in good shape while blackberries remain limited. Pineapple availability has improved, while cantaloupe and honeydew remain extremely tight heading into the holiday.

🚛Freight Watch🚛
Freight rates continue to rise due to limited truck availability and record-high fuel costs. Fuel surcharges are becoming standard across both trucking and sea freight. On the trade front, it has been confirmed that no USMCA tariffs will be implemented on fresh produce from Canada or Mexico.

Before it becomes a refreshing glass of juice or a sweet addition to your favorite loaf of bread, an orange has quite a journey. 🍊

🌱 It begins as a small blossom on an orange tree, growing under warm sunshine and soaking up the nutrients it needs to thrive.

🚜 Once perfectly ripe, it's carefully harvested by growers dedicated to quality and freshness.

📦 The oranges are sorted, packed, and prepared for their trip through the supply chain.

🚛 They travel efficiently to maintain peak freshness on their way to distributors, restaurants, and grocery stores.

👨‍🍳 From freshly squeezed juice to vibrant salads and flavorful dishes, oranges bring bright citrus flavor to countless creations.

🍽️ Finally, they reach your table—fresh, juicy, and ready to enjoy from grove to table, every orange tells a story of freshness, care, and quality. ❤️🍊
