DHA is the ingredient in sunless products that is responsible for giving you that sun-kissed, glowy tan. It is derived from sugar cane and sugar beets, but goes through a process called synthesis, where chemicals are used to extract the necessary compounds for DHA. It also contains preservatives to combat the growth of microbes, bacteria, yeast, and mold.

For this reason, DHA cannot and will not meet the criteria to be legally stamped
ORGANIC.

If this is a market you are trying to tap into, market your products as containing organic based ingredients rather than saying you offer organic spray tans.
