As HR, do you prioritize your employees’ physical and mental health?

Your employees’ physical and mental health affects work productivity, engagement, and overall job satisfaction, which is why proper ergonomics is needed.

Sitting or standing for hours in an uncomfortable position can lead to years of damage to your neck, back, and overall body which ultimately brings down overall work productivity and the health of your employees.

Meet Michael.

Michael is supposed to be a lifelike representation of gamers in 2040.

If you think Michael looks a bit odd, it is because he depicts multiple chronic symptoms of constantly sitting with barely any exposure to the sun and little exercise.

As you can see in this article, Michael displays bloodshot eyes from staring at the screen for too long and an indent in the skull from overuse of his headset.

Though Michael represents future gamers, he could also represent many desk workers who also aren’t paying attention to their posture as they are glued to their screens and typing away.

Regardless of the type of chair you have or the type of desk you have, it is important to start paying attention to how long you stare at the screen or how your posture is when you sit for a long period of time…otherwise you might end up becoming like Michael a lot sooner than you may think.

To our readers, do you think Michael is an accurate description of gamers and desk workers? Please read this article and let us know what you think about Michael in the comments.
