Check out this story of Days for Girls International in Nepal. This is so exciting. We recently sent 300 kits to Chad so it's always great to see what's going on around the globe. (Scroll down to our January 28 post for a link to our donation page if you'd like to help with this great worldwide project.)
An update to our Sun Prairie team's progress:
We have been continuing to work during covid, each in our own homes doing one part of the project before forwarding it onto another, thanks to the organizational skills of Linda Frautschy. We are sitting on about 250 completed kits, about 50 of them heavy flow kits. By this summer we will probably have another 200 regular kits ready to pack.
Our team's kits have been put on the International Days for Girls Kits Available list. We look forward to sending them off to a much-needed location soon.

Days for Girls International prepares & distributes sustainable menstrual kits so girls around the world don’t miss school during their menstrual periods.
This is our Sun Prairie, Wi, donation page to raise money for our local group to buy fabric & supplies to make our menstrual kits. Want to help? Every $10 donation will allow us to create a kit that will change the life of a girl who has no access to hygiene products. Here is a link to our fundraising page:

Days for Girls is a global movement that prepares and distributes sustainable menstrual health solutions to girls who would otherwise miss school during their monthly periods. The nonprofit organization was founded in 2008 by American woman Celeste Mergens. After visiting an orphanage in Nairobi, Kenya, she discovered that menstruating girls stayed in their dormitories for days, sitting on cardboard to absorb their flow, because they could not afford feminine hygiene products. Her first response was to organize donations of disposable sanitary pads, but she realized that this was not a sustainable solution — and the girls had no way to dispose of used pads. She then developed the idea of creating washable, reusable pads and providing the girls with a personal kit of all they would need to continue their schooling with hygiene and dignity. By 2018, the DfG Kits and health education programs had reached more than one million girls and women in over 100 countries.
