Moving from Germany to Florida During the Pandemic
In the summer of 2020, amid the global pandemic, our family transitioned from life in Germany to a new chapter in Florida. Due to the pandemic, he missed the opportunity to earn his black belt in Shotokan, which left him feeling disappointed. Our arrival in Florida was marked by uncertainty, particularly regarding wha
t we would find in terms of karate opportunities and the local environment. In Germany, strict rules and limited social interaction had become the norm. Given these circumstances, we decided that Becky would homeschool the children until we gained a better understanding of our new surroundings. Discovering CD Williamson Karate
It didn’t take long before Branden began asking about continuing his karate training. Becky reached out to a karate dojo we frequently passed by, inquiring about daytime classes suitable for homeschooled children. Branden immediately connected with CD Williamson Karate, and as a family, we appreciated the way they supported and worked with their students. Early in 2021, Branden encouraged us to join him in karate, marking the beginning of our family’s black belt journey. Training and Growth at CD Williamson Karate
During our time in Florida, we greatly enjoyed learning and training at CD Williamson Karate in Niceville. The dojo’s program enabled us to compete in AAU tournaments throughout the southeastern United States, enriching our experience and growth in the sport. The Noss family relocated in the summer of 2025. We are excited to continue our training in Shorin-ryu Shorinkan and participation in competitions. Branden dreams of opening his own dojo one day, and this page is dedicated to supporting that goal while documenting our ongoing karate journey.
