STUART POLICE MAKE UNUSUAL BUST
For years, law enforcement has unfairly taken the blame for America's love affair with donuts.
Well, today we have the photographic evidence to clear our name once and for all.
Our undercover surveillance team caught our friends at Stuart Fire Rescue red-handed unloading a fresh donut delivery.
Looks like the shoe is on the other foot now....
Happy National Donut Day to everyone, especially our Fire Rescue partners. Enjoy those donuts... your secret is safe with us.

Newest Members of the Special Response Team – SRT Medics
The City of Stuart, Stuart Police Department, and Stuart Fire Rescue, along with Police Chief Zenelovic and Fire Chief Felicione, are proud to announce the first medics to become part of the Police Department’s Special Response Team.
These specially trained paramedics are now able to make entry into active scenes to assist officers and render aid to officers, victims, or suspects during high-priority incidents. The medics will train alongside the Police Department’s Special Response Team and were required to complete physical aptitude testing, fi****ms qualifications, and selection processes similar to those required of police officers.
This collaboration will allow critical medical services to be rendered without delay, even while a scene remains active. The partnership has been a long and rewarding process, and we are grateful to see it come to fruition.
Congratulations to these dedicated professionals on this important achievement and commitment to serving our community.

Today Lieutenant Matt Clough was presented with the Service Above Self award from the Stuart Rotary Club. In addition to his daily responsibilities Lieutenant Clough has been a valuable asset to our department by participating in our new hire orientation program where we mold young firefighters into true professionals. He is also responsible for managing our department wide hose testing program where we test thousands of feet of fire hose annually to ensure that our apparatus are ready to respond to any emergency. Congratulations Lieutenant Clough!

As of this morning the Keetch-Byram Drought Index indicates 86% of our region is under a severe drought. This means that our risk of wildfire is extreme. Residents should take extreme caution when using grills outside as any spark could ignite a fire and no open burning is allowed. While you may think that we don’t get many outside fires in the City, we responded to over 20 outside fires last year and already 5 this year, and that doesn’t count calls where the fire is already extinguished. Your Stuart Firefighters are ready to respond and our latest piece of equipment, a specially outfitted Humvee, has been designed specifically to mitigate wildland/urban interface fires. This was made possible through the excellent relationship that we have with the Florida Forest Service. Our partnership with them allowed us to acquire this piece of apparatus at no cost to the taxpayers of the City of Stuart.
