Mystic Soul Essentials is a seasonal record of old ways, ancestral memory, and the quiet movements of time. What is shared here follows the turning of the moon, the shifting of the heavens, and the rhythms that shape daily life. I walk my own path, rooted in reconstructionist study, lived experience, and respect for what is known and what is not. I name what can be traced, what has been carried fo

The New Moon in Pisces 3.19.2026

The moon settles into its dark shape today at the far end of Pisces, at the twenty‑eighth degree, the place where the zodiac completes its long circle. This is the final moon before the Equinox opens the doorway into a new cycle, arriving like a tide drawing back to gather the stories and quiet lessons of the year.

In the language of the stars, this degree is a threshold, a fertile stretch where the year’s experiences rest in their fullness. Pisces holds the last light of the old cycle, and under this moon that light turns inward, illuminating what feels ready to travel with us into the spring.

A gentle current moves beneath the surface. Like a spark across deep water, something may come into focus, a clear understanding or a path that reveals itself with ease. Not a jolt, simply a realignment that feels natural to the moment.

Dreams often grow vivid under this sky. Small moments carry a certain weight. Thoughts arrive with a quiet certainty. The boundary between the seen and the unseen softens, and meaning moves easily between them.

This is the last dark before the turning.

The Equinox waits just ahead, where light and shadow meet in balance. Today holds the pause before that meeting, the breath before the season opens.

3 Days Until the Spring Equinox
The Return of the Eggs

Three days from now, the sun will rise in balance with the night, but the turning has already begun. For moons they lived on salt‑flesh and dwindling grain, listening to the wolves call across the frozen dark. Their bellies grew lean and the world held still under Winter’s iron grip.

Then, beneath the eaves, the hens stirred.

They did not bring abundance. They brought a promise. A few warm shells hidden in the straw, smooth and pale and heavy with the spark of life. To find an egg now was to feel the land begin to breathe again. It was the first crack in Winter’s shield‑wall, the first sign that the long cold was loosening its hold.

They gathered them with stained hands and marked them with crushed roots and soot, not for ceremony but because the body knows when the season is turning. No scroll or priest was needed. The marrow understood. Life was waking in small, steady ways, and the promise of the green world was already tucked inside those shells.

The ice is thinning. What small spark of life is returning to your hearth?

Women Who Lit the Fires Before Us
Today we remember the women whose courage shaped the path we walk today.
There are women who walked the earth before us whose stories rise like sparks to light every hearth they reach. They are the shapers of our world and the weavers of our life-path.
Carry these names into the morning.
Freydís Eiríksdóttir did not wait for the world to be found. She pushed the edge of the known and steered her ship into the churning grey of the western sea. She was fearless and unyielding. She showed us that the horizon belongs to whoever has the grit to claim it.
Auðr the Deep-Minded was a master of the waves and the law. She built her own ship and piloted her people across the salt water to the new shores of the north. There she carved out a peaceful home and gave land to those who followed her. Her vision held like iron and her authority brought order to the wild.
Veleda walked with the clarity of a prophet. From her high tower she guided the fate of tribes and nations. Even the powerful leaders from the south sought her voice because the turning of the seasons shifted around her counsel. It was as if the earth itself leaned in to hear her speak.
Boudica rose with the fire of the land in her veins. She was the voice of sovereignty who bound the tribes together beneath her banner. She stood for the dignity of her people and her presence carried the force of thunder rolling across open fields.
Cartimandua ruled her realm as a queen in her own right. She held her land through the power of strategy and the wisdom of alliance. She proved that a mind capable of weaving peace and diplomacy is as mighty as any wall of shields.
Birutė was the heartbeat of the Baltic coast. As a guardian of the sacred fires and the old wisdom she anchored the spirit of her people. She was the steady stone that watched a thousand dawns and she ensured that the spirit of her homeland remained unbroken.
Kerttu remains the strength in the frost. Her memory is the power of the hearth and the deep determination that holds families together through the longest winters. Hers is the quiet resolve that settles into the bones and stays.
The völur walk among us with their brass-bound staffs. They practice their craft and offer the guidance that shapes the path of our people. From the Lady of Cavillon in the deep beginnings to the healers in every village these women hold the keys to our survival.
They hold the keys to the law as well. These women own the land and manage the great estates. They hold the right to their own wealth and they guard the stores of the tribe. While others travel for trade or path-finding it is the women who keep the world standing.
They do more than live through their time. They weave the ways and the traditions that echo in the way we live this very breath. Their flame burns here and now. It is bright enough for any child sitting by this fire to feel her own strength rising to meet it.
Our lineage holds many more whose stories shine with this same bright strength.
If there are others you would bring to this fire, speak their names in the comments below. Let their stories travel farther so their light may join our circle and never go out.

Full Moon Lunar Eclipse in Virgo
March 3, 2026

Tonight, the Moon rises in Virgo during a total lunar eclipse. Eclipses have long been seen as turning points, not because they are loud, but because they reveal what has already been forming.

This is the Crow Moon, the Worm Moon, the Sap Moon. Names rooted in seasonal change. The ground thaws. Crows call. Maple sap begins to run. Even where winter does not freeze the soil, the shift toward spring is real. Light lengthens. Something loosens.

Virgo brings attention to the practical parts of life. Routines. Work. Health. Responsibilities. The details that quietly shape each day. Under this light, patterns become clearer. What supports you stands out. What drains you does as well.

Jupiter nearby points to growth where there has been steady effort. Not luck falling from the sky, but expansion that meets preparation.

Mercury retrograde in Pisces turns attention inward. Intuition strengthens. Old thoughts resurface. Emotions may feel closer to the surface than usual.

Full Moons illuminate. Eclipses intensify that light. What has been buried or avoided may feel more visible now. That visibility is not punishment. It is information.

The Spring Equinox approaches. Day and night move toward equal length. Balance in nature is never fixed. It is adjusted continually. The same is true personally.

This moon highlights what is ready to be refined. Not dramatically. Not magically. Simply honestly.
