In this picture you will see a right hemiglossectomy due to squamous cell carcinoma and right neck dissection. You may ask why the tongue is positioned this way? It is an unevenness of the tongue following reconstruction with tumor removal with reconstructive right thigh free flap surgery.

What are the goals?Goals will include reducing internal and external lymphedema via manual lymphatic drainage and manual therapy. Daily range of motion exercises and stretches of the neck, shoulder and jaw.

How will this help him? Patient hopes to return to work within 8-10 weeks with improved communication and swallowing function.
