‼️ FATAL HIT-AND-RUN CRASH UPDATE‼️
On June 27, 2026, at approximately 1018 hours, a pedestrian was riding a bicycle with a shopping cart as a trailer, along with two dogs, on westbound Eight Mile Road east of I-5. An unknown vehicle was driving on westbound Eight Mile Road, east of I-5, approaching the pedestrian at an undetermined speed. The vehicle crashed with the pedestrian and left the scene. The two dogs were also impacted and were deceased.
As the investigation continues, CHP officers have identified the suspect vehicle as a silver or light gray 2011 - 2015 Ford Explorer. The Ford Explorer is expected to have major right front damage.
