Tree Stockton

Hi, I’m a Ginkgo Biloba planted by Tree Stockton in March 2024. Thanks to the care of my homeowner, I’ve been getting the deep watering I need to establish strong roots and healthy growth. Over the past 2years, I’ve grown over a foot taller and I’m excited to keep reaching for the sky. One day, I’ll provide shade to this neighborhood on Rose Street, but for now I’m still a young tree with plenty of growing to do. As we head into the summer heat, don’t forget that street trees my size still need regular deep watering and a little extra TLC. Even mature trees benefit from a good drink during hot weather. Thank you to Tree Stockton and the residents who help care for Stockton’s growing urban forest.

Show Up for Louis Park was a powerful example of what can happen when community comes together. On Saturday, May 16, over 140 volunteers rolled up their sleeves and planted 30 trees, added around 30 native plants, removed over 300 pounds of litter, spread 8 cubic yards of mulch, and cleared a full 40 yard dumpster of invasive green waste from the delta and boat ramp area near Dad’s Point. Volunteers also brought color and life to the park by creating 520 square feet of community art featuring Delta wildlife on concrete barriers and refreshing nearly 2,000 square feet of benches. We gave away 5 native trees and 20 gift certificates to a local nursery so families could continue growing at home. A special thank you to our partners who made this event possible: Keep America Beautiful, Caltrans HQ, Keep California Beautiful, Greater Valley Conservation Corps, the City of Stockton, and West Coast Arborists for generously providing watering services. We are also grateful to our community art coordinators, Garrett Daniels and Tiffany Pech, and a big shout out to for providing the music and keeping the energy high throughout the day. Thank you to Stockton Beautiful and Stockton Garden Club for their continued support, and to volunteer groups from LiUNA, University of the Pacific, and additional conservation corps teams who showed up in force.
