During part of my speech tonight during the banquet held by our local partner CACSUP Senegal in our honor, I reiterated the mission of Sharing Humanity - " so that we will be inspired to help others not strictly based on religion, ethnicity, culture, country, or tribe but based on the one common factor between us all - our Humanity". But then I paused and told them that "while this is a concept that is sometimes foreign to many people it is a message that is entirely Senagalese." The world can learn many lessons from Senegal on how different ethnicities, religions and cultures live side by side without judgement and with care for others. With the last day in Senegal approaching I am sad to leave this country that has given so much to us simply by allowing us to experience it.

We had the privilege of visiting the Lycee Mallick Sy high school in Thies that we have heard so much about through HOPE for Senegal. We had the opportunity to meet some students and teachers who disregarded the current strike to continue to learn and study, and had intellectual discussions with teachers passionate about their jobs, their students, and the betterment of their country. Another day of work completed. Internal walls are sealed, roof joists are in, and the nearby structure has been taken down (kind of)
