The Buzzards Society was created in 2008 to recognize those adventurous men and women who have raced in ten or more Vineyard Races. The vineyard Race is sponsored by the Stamford Yacht Club and is held every Labor Day Weekend. 2011 will be the 77th running of this prestigious long distance race.

Dave Rosow on Loki was the fastest corrected time by a boat with a buzzard skipper so he therefore is the 2024 winner of the Buzzard Trophy! We look forward to seeing pictures of this stunning trophy on his mantle.

Buzzard burgees on the Vineyard Race course! It's always exciting to see how many Buzzard burgees we can spot on the boat at the start. Here's a selection of them. What's a Buzzard you ask? It's someone who has sailed in the Vineyard Race 10 or more times. If you think you qualify, drop a note to [email protected]. Oh yes, there are special Buzzard perks at the trophy awards party!
