Civil Rights & Voting Rights Acts with Charlie Ferris 02/03/2022

This was a wonderful project to shoot and edit. Mr. Ferris' behind the scenes stories of the Civil Rights Act of 1964 and the Voting Rights Act of 1965 were a who's who of 20th Century politics, and a fascinating look at how these two landmark pieces of legislation were crafted and passed during a tumultuous time in our Nation's History. I was thrilled to help tell this story.

Civil Rights & Voting Rights Acts with Charlie Ferris Name Member and former Washington, DC office head Charlie Ferris played an integral role in the passage of the Civil Rights Act of 1964 and the drafting of the Voting Rights Act of 1965 while working in the US Senate. This young athlete has many fond memories of attending games at Boston's hallowed stadiums. What's better than shooting your senior portraits on the streets of the city? Why, shooting your senior portraits inside Fenway Park!

Another fabulous crop of seniors in this strange and challenging year. Stay strong and focused. You'll reap the rewards. Here's to getting back to normal, soon!

No matter where we end up in September, you want to commemorate your Senior with a beautiful portrait. This year is tougher than most with regard to COVID and lost wages. So, for the first time, Shoefly Studios will offer Senior mini-sessions to help with costs. These twenty minute sessions will be at a reduced price from the typical one on one portrait sitting (which are still available), but will still provide you a photo for the yearbook, includes an archival quality print, and access to a gallery to purchase more prints for family members. More details to follow!

The City Museum in St. Louis is the gift that keeps on giving. It's especially easy when you have a wonderful model like Kennedy Meyer in front of you. Brandi Patton HMUA, organized by Dorothy Swiegoda

So exciting to have work selected again in Shutter Magazine. Both of these models were fantastic to work with, and the location, City Museum in St. Louis, is a photographer's dream. Dorothy Swiegoda arranged fantastic access to the museum, and brought us all together, models, photographers, hair and makeup, too!

The City Museum is my favorite, but the opportunities to shoot don't stop there! Amazing settings in and around St. Louis, and special thanks to Becky Gregory at Intuitions Backrounds for graciously lending me a backdrop stand, and Creve Coeur Camera for shipping a 9 foot roll of paper into the all the madness (and managing to get it to me!). All of the models (and their chaperones) are amazing and work around the clock (literally) making magic in front of the lens.

A Night in the Museum 05/31/2019

The City Museum in St. Louis, MO is a unique and mysterious place. Ever changing, it is an amazing location to shoot . I still haven't seen all of the nooks and crannies. Dorothy Swiegoda organizes a fantastic array of models, hair and makeup artists and even arranges a pretty bangin' BBQ dinner. Easily one of my favorite places to shoot every year!

I didn't want to post this until I was able to get a copy of the magazine out to her mom :) A wonderful young woman, well deserving of the inclusion!
