π A Friendly Reminder About Our Patient Portal π
We love that so many of our families use the patient portal to stay connected with us! It's a great tool for quick questions and accessing your child's health records.
However, there are some requests that we may not be able to fully address through a portal message alone. These include:
πΉ Requests for new prescriptions or medication changes
πΉ Sending photos of rashes, injuries, or other symptoms for diagnosis
Why?
Because your child's safety comes first. Prescribing medication and evaluating skin changes, injuries, or other concerns often require a hands-on examination. Without seeing your child in person, we may not have the full picture needed to make the safest and most accurate medical decisions.
β
What the portal IS great for:
β’ Requesting prescription refills for current medications
β’ Asking general, non-urgent questions
β’ Reviewing test results and visit summaries
If you send a portal message with a prescription request or a photo asking for a diagnosis, our team may ask you to schedule an office visit so we can properly evaluate your child. This isn't to create extra steps β it's to make sure your child gets the best care possible.
Thank you for understanding, and as always, we're here for your family! π
