One Foot in Front of the Other
Whether you're a civilian, active duty military or a veteran getting outside and excercising can help with healing your mind, body and soul. These are trying times, so take the time to enjoy nature while getting in some physical fitness. Take advantage of the many walkways at Gateway Arch National Park to run, walk or turn the cranks on that bicycle that has been sitting in the garage all summer. There’s plenty of shade provided by the London Planetrees on the north and south walkways as well as lots of open space to utilize in the North Gateway area of the park. Strap on your sneakers and head to the park to let off some steam and benefit from being in the Great Outdoors! Stay well.

Due to concerns surrounding the spread of coronavirus (COVID-19) in our community, the St. Louis Track Club has made some decisions regarding upcoming group events.

All group runs scheduled for March have been cancelled. We will reassess in the coming weeks to determine whether April’s runs will go on as scheduled.

Additionally, we have made the very difficult decision to postpone the first race in the 2020/2021 Weldon Spring Trail Series, the Lost Valley 8 mile/4 mile Trail Race scheduled for May 23, 2020. We’re working on an alternative date and will keep everyone posted.

These decisions are not easy, especially because we know that running, walking and being outdoors are some of the best ways to stay healthy both physically and mentally. We encourage everyone to find ways to enjoy outdoor physical activities while respecting the recommendations of those monitoring this situation closely.

Despite a cloud cover it was a fantastic cool morning to show a group of entomologists around downtown STL. With St. Louis as the site of this year's annual Entomological Society of America conference, just had to find a good insect story for them. And holy phylloxera, can you believe we even have a story about a renowned entomologist from STL? It's true. Go grab a glass of wine and read up on it.
