We recently completed the reconstruction of a section of the perimeter crown (soffit and fascia) and parapet wall tuckpointing of a historic home that was in an advanced state of deterioration. Once we removed the outer wood components, we discovered that the entire internal structure was completely rotted and loose.

The scope of work included:

Scaffolding design and setup, supplied by our partner Ultimate Scaffolding from Saint Louis.

-Fabrication and installation of new brackets.

-Replacement of flat sections with fir wood.

-Custom craftsmanship of moldings in sapele hardwood, replicating the original design.

-Application of epoxy coating and airless spray painting (primer + finish).

-Repairs to the upper roof section (roofing and flashings).

-Full tuckpointing of the parapet wall above the restored area.

Preserving history requires commitment, skill, and deep respect for original details. We're proud to be part of projects like this!

During 2024/2025, we had the honor of working on a historic home in Washington Terrace, originally designed in 1901 by architect Harry G. Clymer.
Our work included:
-Installation of a Layher scaffold system, provided by our trusted partner Ultimate Scaffolding.
-Full reconstruction of two chimneys on the southwest side of the property.
At CEMAX LLC, we’re committed to preserving Saint Louis’ architectural legacy with precision, care, and respect for the original craftsmanship.
Proud to be part of projects that bring history back to life and grateful for the strong partnerships that make it possible!

Installation of access scaffold for the reconstruction of a chimney collapsed due to tornado damage. This scaffold was designed to allow the passage of machinery and vehicles underneath.

On May 16, 2025, our city was struck by an EF-3 tornado. Unfortunately, many neighborhoods suffered severe damage. We have been — and continue to be — on the ground helping families with a fast and effective response to the emergency.

The preservation of these historic properties, built in the late 1800s and early 1900s, is essential to the heritage of our city.

We have worked both as a general contractor and as independent contractors on numerous homes, mainly in Central West End, where we have been active for over five years.

During this time, we have:

✔️Protected homes from water damage with temporary roof coverings.

✔️Assisted families in removing fallen trees, both on and around their properties.

✔️Provided lift equipment to help others protect their homes.

✔️Strongly defended the importance of preserving the historical value of each property against poor third-party decisions.

✔️Built a wooden structure over a flat-roofed property that was fully exposed, and later installed a shrink wrap system.

✔️Coordinated shrink wrap installations on three historic properties.

Currently, we are restoring six historic properties, performing work as both general contractors and independent contractors, including:

✔️Scaffold design, installation, and rental.

✔️Brick and limestone chimney rebuilds.

✔️Clay tile and asphalt shingle roof repairs and rebuilds.

✔️Soffit, fascia, and gutter repairs.

✔️Interior restoration: plaster, drywall, painting, carpentry, and flooring

Your priority is our priority.
