Mo Egeston

This has been a year! Grateful that Dad is out of the hospital first and foremost. Through it all somehow two recitals also happened this Spring…Shoutout to my students from Mo Egeston Piano Studio and the crew at Teipen Performing Arts for dealing with my wildly unpredictable schedule in 2026. I am very proud of all the work that students put in - oftentimes MUCH more last minute than I would prefer!

Students from school age to 100% grown put in the work and it showed. Among the great performances we heard Liszt, Kuhlau, Guaraldi, Biehl and Beethoven; some cool new contemporary piano pieces from living composers (gotta love those RCM collections!) and of course some jazz standards were in the mix. Oh and lest I forget- a theme from MINECRAFT. Example eleventy billion of my students keeping me connected to anything after 2005. (we were also scheduled to also hear from One Piece but that will have to be next time)

Summer session kicks in later in June. I’ll have a couple of spots at Teipen and maybe 1 downtown.

I’m gonna go ahead and take a few naps now.

Been doing some overnights at Hotel Barnes with Dad. Gratefully the healing journey continues. Although it would be cool not to hang out so much at these places where I played grand opening parties considering they're all hospital wings…but we are grateful for Dad's progress.

So you know- making the best of it with some outdoor dining, roof top views, antique discoveries (payphone???) and steps at the local park 😎
