We have some amazing news: Moon Pie has officially finished her Stereotactic Radiation treatment! She handled the process like a total pro. While she’s still a bit tired, she’s back to her usual self—taking walks, eating well, and exploring.

The team at MOU was incredible, cheering her on every step of the way. To be honest, the journey was a bit of a marathon for us, too. Between daily drop-offs, a literal bat situation at our first Airbnb, and getting my car towed in the snow at the second place, it’s been a chaotic few weeks. Amidst all this, my grandfather, Irv, passed away. I’ll share more on his wonderful life later, but needless to say, we are beyond relieved to finally be home.

The Silver Lining:
Because of the location of her tumors, the team was able to treat the one near her heart and the one in her lungs simultaneously. This brought the cost down from $11,000 to $8,000!

We found Moon Pie last year abandoned and fearfully shaking in a pile of leaves and trash. It was through her bravery and the generous support of our community that she began her healing journey and transformed into a loving member of our family, conquering heartworm and recovering from her past life on the streets.
