Volunteer OPPORTUNITY! (Still Searching!)
Our outdoor playspace still needs some TLC, and we haven't found our power-washing hero yet! We're looking for a volunteer (or a crew!) who can bring a power washer and help us get our space clean and safe for our kids to enjoy this summer.
A freshened-up outdoor space will make a real difference for the children and families we work with.
Our goal is to have this done by July 20. Can you help us get there?
Have a power washer and a few hours to spare? Drop us a comment, send a message, or email [email protected].
Volunteers Needed for Powerwashing is the title on a blue-background graphic with three bullet points (clean up the outdoor playspace, BYO power washer, July 20 goal), a circular photo of a power washer in action, and contact info at [email protected]. The DGCKids logo is in the bottom right-hand corner.

Sensory Mud Farm Fun! 🐑
Looking for a simple, screen-free activity for your little one this week? Try a Sensory Mud Farm!
What you'll need:
1 box of chocolate instant pudding
1½ to 1¾ cups of water
Plastic farm animal figurines
A bucket of soapy water
A washcloth for clean-up
How it works: Mix up the pudding with water instead of milk, then set your child up somewhere mess-friendly (a high chair, the bathtub, or outside on the grass all work great).
Let them roll the animals through the "mud," make tracks, and narrate the fun together ("The cow is dirty! She's walking through the mud!").
When playtime's done, toss the animals in a bucket of soapy water and clean up together; even the youngest helpers can join in.
This kind of hands-on, sensory play is a wonderful way to build tactile awareness and language skills, especially for children who are blind or have low vision. Give it a try and let us know how it
goes! 🐮
Thank you to Teacher of Students with Visual Impairments (TVI), Maggie, for this fun idea!
