RESiDUE
began as a word…
what remains after love, after rupture,
after the body learns what the mind cannot yet name.
I was casting myself
to understand the weight of what lingered.. abuse(sexual, physical, mental) relationships, histories, moments that left a mark
without a language to hold them.
My body became the archive.
Then life moved
not gently, not slowly.
While I was shifting homes, identities, futures,
I was also creating new residue.
Some of it tender.
Some of it heavy.
Some of it simply unfinished.
The work paused.
Not because it was abandoned,
but because it needed time
to breathe alongside me.
Still in the wellness of everything
there has been bliss.
Color continues to arrive on my life canvas.
Light keeps finding its way through my hands.
Even in stillness, something has been forming.
The show has transformed
beyond what I first imagined.
What I thought was the final scene
was only the moment of being
finally seen.
I will share it
but differently now..
With more space.
More truth.
More integration.
You may not see this body of work fully emerge
for another year.
Trust me when I say..
it is alive, evolving and becoming.
In the meantime,
I am rebuilding.
Learning.
Finishing classes.
Hitting goals.
My body beginning again, on purpose.
This is not an ending.
It’s a turning.
The residue remains
not as my weight,
but always as my wisdom.
