Let’s talk about something nobody warns you about before your lip appointment. 💋
Bruising…it happens, and we’re never going to pretend otherwise.
What you’re seeing in these photos is the real, unfiltered reality of lip filler. Same process but healed completely different. Both are completely normal and there are a lot of reasons it can happen. 💉
Your vascular anatomy, any blood thinners or supplements you’re taking, the technique required to get you to your goal, even just how your body decides to heal that particular week. None of it means something went wrong. It just means you’re human. 🤍
Want to give yourself the best shot at a clean heal? Most bruises are fully responded within 1-2 weeks, but here’s what helps:
• No alcohol or blood thinners 24–48 hrs before your appointment
• Ice gently right after treatment
• Skip the hot yoga and intense workouts for the first 24 hours post appointment 
• Ask us about arnica or complimentary aerolase laser treatments for bruising ✨

A lot of the time, especially with fuller lips, the surrounding tissue simply doesn’t have enough structural support to properly hold the added volume (even in patients in their 20s!) ✨ When that support is weak, the tissue can start folding or collapsing on itself instead of supporting the shape of the lips naturally.
That’s when you’ll sometimes notice those stationary vertical lines near the corners of the mouth, or deeper folds forming beside existing marionette lines. Once you notice it… you can’t unsee it.
This is also why treating the lips isn’t always just about “adding filler.” The mouth area is one of the first places we lose collagen and support as we age, even without previous filler. Healthy tissue structure matters just as much as volume.
