MANY JKD conversations online and here in Facebook land...

So many opinions, accusations, adulation and slanders... particularly regarding Dan and other 1st generation instructors. Here is my take on the crusade :-)

Inosanto did not "add" 26 arts... he "drew" from 26 arts.

If Bruce had not done the grappling scene with Kareem many would be arguing about how JKD should not have any groundwork.

Once you call yourself a purist... JKD disappears like an electron when we try to "capture" it.

I think of Bruce's notions on JKD as Heisenbergh's uncertainty principal for martial arts...

The "technique" exists in a probabilistic relationship with the members of an encounter, but when we try to parse it out of the dynamic for "analysis" we lose much of what we attempted to measure and reflect upon.

The electron is only itself in the dynamic...and only then is it's full expression of its potentiality available.

So too is the artist.

My humble opinion. :-)
