See you on the other side of the rainbow.

In loving memory of a handsome boy named George💕 He was the first and only dog for his family, and he was a celebrity at his mom’s work—with his own page💕 He was also a St. Louis celebrity, participating in parades and charity events and walks💕 George loved to tag along to work every day and loved to go wherever his people went💕 Several years ago, George had a fall and became gravely ill from his medicine, but he was fortunate to recover and live another 3 beautiful years until his rear legs became so weak that he could no longer get around without a lot of help💕 George had some delicious treats, lots of ear scratches and was surrounded by love as we helped him leave his worldly struggles behind💕 Rest In Peace sweet boy—you were so dearly loved💕

I won the lottery and my humans feel the same way about me.

Henrietta was on death row in South Carolina so she needed help. Henrietta is a little bit older, the kind of dog that isn't so readily considered "adoptable", and our beloved rescue partners that welcome older, less obvious dogs like Henrietta were full up.

We get kind of weepy over this kind of thing....that Henrietta's beautiful heart and gentle soul seemed to mean less to the world than Henrietta's looks, or age, or size. Dear World, when you overlook a kind, worthy being of any sort for those reasons, well, you're wrong to do so.

Henrietta's time was up. She's healthy and loving and had no place to go. No place to go, until Home For Life Animal Sanctuary stepped up for her.

Home For Life Animal Sanctuary comes up a lot on our page because we have a soft spot for the "tougher cases", and so do they. While Henrietta isn't what one might typically consider a "tough case", the fact remains that she was unwanted, had no place to go, had run out of time....and that Home For Life Animal Sanctuary saved her life. Snatching dogs from death's doorstep is kind of Home for Life's specialty. Check out their page....the stories there will make you smile and cry.

So fast forward: We got Henrietta to Home for Life. She's happy as a clam there. She's great with other dogs and all people and so sweet and good that Henrietta has a new calling: She visits assisting living centers and comforts the people there. Henrietta rolls onto her back, offers up her lovely belly and lets out a little sound that says, "I know what it's like to feel alone and forgotten. But I am here to show you that you are not. You are not alone, you are not forgotten, and when it seems that no one cares at all, I swear that someone does. I am living proof of that."

At Mutt Mutt Engine, we believe that kindness is beauty, and that you, our friends, are the most beautiful people in the world.

Henrietta agrees.
