๐Ÿ’” A difficult setback for a family working so hard to build a new life.

The Rahmani family arrived in St. Louis after fleeing Afghanistan and were welcomed through Ashrei Foundation's Refugee Resettlement Project. Over the past year, they have worked tirelessly to create a stable home for their family, learning English, navigating new systems, supporting their children, and building a future in their new community.

This week, that journey hit an unexpected obstacle: the family's (new to them) car was stolen.

For many families, losing a vehicle is devastating. For the Rahmanis, it means losing access to work, medical appointments, school activities, grocery shopping, and the independence they have worked so hard to achieve.

Because the vehicle carried liability-only coverage, the loss is not recoverable through insurance.

We're asking our community to help.
๐Ÿš— We are seeking financial contributions toward the purchase of a reliable replacement vehicle

The Rahmanis have overcome enormous challenges with resilience, determination, and the support of a caring community. We hope to help them take this next step forward.

Together, we can help ensure that one act of theft does not derail over a year of hard-earned progress.

This month we honor Juneteenth all month and celebrate freedom, dignity, and access for all, Ashreiโ€™s North City Photo ID Clinics continue helping neighbors obtain the IDs they need to move through daily life with confidence and opportunity.

A photo ID can open doors to housing, employment, healthcare, banking, and more. Together, we are building a community where everyone belongs and everyone has access.

Join us at a June clinic or help spread the word. Freedom and opportunity should never depend on paperwork alone. โค๏ธ๐Ÿ–ค๐Ÿ’š
