Little Cliff

As some of you know, my mending journey is continuing in a new direction: I will be pursuing a MA in Fashion and Textile studies specializing in textile conservation! I learned about the program about a year ago from ‘s podcast where she interviewed Conservator and FIT grad . I didn’t know a graduate degree existed for my developing practice. Their conversation changed everything for me.
A year later, I have made some great friends in the conservation world, completed a chemistry class, and left my job as a fashion designer. I am now in the process of packing up my studio space and preparing it for its’ next owner, a friend and fellow craft enthusiast! I have accumulated a LOT of textiles, notions, scraps, clothing, craft supplies and furniture over the years, and would love if the items I can’t take to NYC go to loving homes in STL. Please join me this Sunday to shop, catch up, and close out this wonderful chapter.
Hope to see you Sunday! 💙 Alexis

Greetings from retirement 👋🏻 I had the pleasure of taking 6 week hand quilting class and wow was it the perfect way to start the next chapter of Little Cliff. I loved learning new ways to approach my medium with the guidance of 6 incredible artists!
The most helpful thing I learned from all 6 classes is what I don’t like: precision, repitition, and clean edges. Practicing these skills more clearly defined what I do like, and also proved I could find moments of affinity even in challenging techniques: flipping a patched piece over to reveal its raw edges and hand stitches, breaking up the monotony of block building by inserting a new texture or color. Pure joy!
The last 6 weeks have felt like a deep stretch that loosened my muscle memory and expanded my creative reach. Thank you all!!
