Connect the Dots Piano Lessons intends to be the very best in private piano lessons. I will keep my class small so that each student will be able to receive a personalized approach to piano study.
LESSONS
Included in each weekly lesson will be instruction in piano technique, music reading and interpretation and music theory. Students will memorize some pieces. Reasonable goals will be set to consider the ability, schedule and interest of the student.
Each lesson will be 30 minutes. The charge is $38.00. A discount of $1.50 per lesson will be given for siblings. I will schedule new lessons in afternoons after school hours and on Saturdays.
While regular lessons are an important ingredient in learning to play the piano, I will have flexibility when it comes to family schedules and holidays, and summer scheduling.
Students will be expected to practice piano at home and come to lessons with prepared pieces. You will need to have a piano with a full-size keyboard at home.
PERFORMANCES
Students will be encouraged to participate in at least one recital each year. The primary recital will take place in the spring of the year. Students will be able to play solos and duets.
Students will be given the opportunity to participate in the Missouri Federation of Music Clubs Annual Festival. The NFMC Festivals Program is designed to give Junior (age 18 and younger) and Adult member musicians of all abilities the opportunity to perform and receive a yearly evaluation in a non-competitive environment. Participation in NFMC Festivals promotes music study, stimulates interest in the musical literature of both the USA and the world, and encourages each participant to reach a high standard of musical achievement. The NFMC Festivals Cup Award Plan and Honor Certificates offer additional incentives to encourage continued participation in NFMC Festivals.
