Harry Partch (1901-1974) was a music theorist and composer. He wrote music using scales of unequal intervals in just intonation, and also worked systematically with microtonal scales. Eventually, he turned to creating his own specific instruments; before that, he composed with more standard instruments, including Metallophones.
