Another FOX2 Studio STL adventure is in the books!
This week we traveled to Southeast Asia one bite at a time with my “Lion City & Beyond!” menu inspired by the bold flavors of Singapore, Thailand and Vietnam.
One of my favorite things about creating menus is weaving together food, culture, history and a little storytelling.
Since July is astrologically associated with….
🦀 Cancer season = The Crab, making Singapore Chili Crab Pasta and a Singapore-style Lobster Crab Bisque the perfect centerpiece.
🦁 And as July transitions into Leo season & Singapore’s nickname is “The Lion City,” I brought forth a full circle menu with bold flavors worthy of its name.
The menu featured:
🍜 Singapore Chili Crab Pasta
🦞 Singapore-Style Lobster Crab Bisque
☕ “Jack Can Too Talk Thai” Southeast Asian Latte
🍰 Tropical Celebration Cake topped with dragon fruit, kiwi, & cherries
One fun behind-the-scenes moment… let’s just say fresh whipped cake + the studio lights will humble thee😂
Thankfully, the flavor was exactly what I wanted and that’s what matters most.
A huge thank you to Brittany for making every Studio STL segment feel like we’re simply sharing great food with friends. We always have such a wonderful time together.
And a special shout-out to Tim Ezell! I heard you were in the studio the day before and doing well. I missed seeing you this week and look forward to crossing paths again soon.
