“Stepping off the Paved Trail” an Avian Rescue:
Native Landscape Solutions staff has history with wildlife rescue. While performing stewardship tasks at a Solar Site, Jose Luis Guardado Cardenas and Jeff Lay witnessed a Red Tail Hawk crash into a guardrail. The Hawk was swooping to catch a Rabbit. After reaching the Hawks location, its beak was secured, and it was transported to a rehabilitation facility.

Recently David Pierson, Native Landscape Solutions Production Manager found an Injured Coopers Hawk on his property. The Hawk was transported to the World Bird Sanctuary for an examination, with the thought that it could be rehabilitated. After triage, it was noted that the Hawk had a few wing and shoulder fractures. As of July 18th, the Hawk is rehabbing in an outdoor facility with other Coopers Hawks until it can fly again. We hope that David can be present at the Hawks release.
