Once upon a time, 5ish years ago, I was pregnant and REALLY wanted a poptart. Only problem was it was too late and the store was closed. So Jordan very thoughtfully made one from scratch. And it was so good we knew we needed to bring it back to share!

Blueberry lemon kouign amann

Someone Jordan works with suggested mixing freeze-dried fruit (crushed into dust) with the sugar for kouign amann. Brilliant! After a trial bake with and of some different varieties, we landed on strawberry. As it bakes, the sugar melts with the fruit and it becomes jammy. We threw a little rye flour in the dough for some nuttiness — so good! It made for the perfect Easter breakfast.
