The City of Springtown is excited to announce the launch of our very first Springtown First Responder Youth Camp, taking place July 13–18, 2026.
This unique program will give local youth ages 13–18 the opportunity to step into the world of public safety and emergency services through hands-on training, demonstrations, leadership development, and real-world emergency response scenarios.
Throughout the week, participants will work alongside professionals from emergency management, EMS, fire services, law enforcement, dispatch, public works, search and rescue, amateur radio communications, and more. Campers will learn valuable life-saving skills, earn CPR certification, explore career opportunities, and gain a deeper understanding of how agencies work together to serve and protect our community.
The week will conclude with a multi-agency capstone exercise where participants will put their new skills to work in a realistic emergency response scenario.
Thanks to the incredible support of our partner agencies and organizations, the camp will be offered free of charge to all selected participants. Their commitment of personnel, equipment, expertise, and resources has made it possible to provide this opportunity for Springtown-area youth.
We extend our sincere gratitude to Parker County OES, PCESD 1, Parker County Hospital District (LifeCare) EMS, the Springtown, TX Police Department officers and tele-communicators, City of Springtown Animal Control, City of Springtown Public Works, the Parker County Radio Club, TEXSAR Search and Rescue, and all of the dedicated professionals who are helping bring this program to life.
Participation is limited, and priority will be given to City of Springtown residents, so interested youth should waste no time in applying.
Applications are now open. If you know a young person who is interested in public service, emergency response, leadership, or simply wants to learn valuable skills while having an unforgettable experience, we encourage them to apply today.
