Focus is on dressage fundamentals and other activities to keep the horses fresh and fun! We jump, XC, fox hunt, trail, trail challenges, and, of course, attend schooling and open shows. Carrie is a confident, light dressage rider based in Springtown, Tx. As a positive trainer who can teach and train. she enjoys helping all levels of riders. For fun, she also loves horsie vacations, fox hunting and bass fishing with hubby Ronnie Chamberlain. Blonde (has moments, too); Cheerful (mostly).

Thank you to Leland for wanting to look under the hood of my Dodge Dually 2001 6 speed, manual. No low gear, 1st is a serious pulling gear. And NO DEF! At a horse show today and he was perusing the variety of trucks, etc. And loved mine. She is now at 206,000 miles, I bought her when she only had 88k. All these years of enjoying her, occasionally mad when she's had issues (always weird ones - wire broke in the lift pump, clutch switch next to the clutch took a long time to diagnose and other weird stuff. But I love my truck. ) Can't tell you how many times I have been approached by people wanting to know if I would sell her. Nope. She makes me feel safe.

Popped the hood, gave Leland some privacy with my girl (all good truck guys appreciate this time to tinker. Gave him the privilege of naming her all these years later.

He came up to where we were sitting and announced... "Jolene."

Wonderful people at Hidden Lakes Farm today. Such a positive experience! Audra's first division had over 50+ rides and two flat classes. The show eliminated the warm up classes to be able to accommodate as many riders as possible. Leadline and W/T over poles were up first starting at 8:30 a.m. and went til almost 11:00 a.m. Then Audra and Lil Bit did the Walk/Trot Crossrails (two classes). We chose not to do the flat class as there were too many riders! Next Division for us started around 1:00 p.m. We came, we saw, she rode, she conquered. Chose to leave after the rides. Not even thinking about sticking around for placings or other riders we wanted to see. We had had enough. It was getting warm, too.

Super Proud of Audra Renshaw, her Groom Hanna, and the support of new HJ Mom (new to the HJ world) Lisa Thomas Hanna. Also appreciate the support of her dad in Oregon, Jeffrey Renshaw.

Thanks to the at home barn crew, heard you had a busy day!

Lil Bit: She wandered through the barn, vacuumed the aisle and some stalls and wanted out back.

Great weekend.

Had a nicely successful Fairfield Dressage Show with my team. Support from Lisa Hanna and Pam Wirtala. Our Show Sponsor Legacy Lariats with Terri Scarbrough Nelson, Michael Hanna (Groom for Audra), and riders Audra Renshaw and Andrea Davis-Sherman. Y'all make my heart sing. Thank you to Fairfield Dressage (Charlene Rickgauer Maddox) ,Valhalla Stables (Rachel Morris) and the volunteers. Was great to see friends Siobhan O'Brien and Gloria Beduhn.

As for the video below, it's reserved not for the help that did eventually come my way but for the wait for 2.5 hours only to send a tow truck. My instructions were clear. The smog must not have been. In speaking with a supervisor, she says we can't change a tire with animals aboard. I swear I never mentioned animals on the trailer. My rebuttal was "They are not on the trailer, they are standing in the hot Texas Sun." There was a bunch of Oh Lords and Eye rolling on this end too. We got to where we needed to be with a shredded tire (sidewall went bye bye all the way around). And eventually safe at home. Still... video applies.

"I'm About To Whip Somebody's Ass" It's a parody of something, and it's amusing for maybe 5 minutes. Found via email.

Riding this Saturday at The Park! Meeting up in the Wells Fargo Bank area to park. No potable water. Bring your own drinks. We will brig water for the horses. Meeting at the park at 9:00 a.m.

In meanwhile, I have been researching weeds getting the ID's on a few - they are all so invasive!

And then I tripped across this... my new favorite song.
