When the scouts wanna help there is no telling them no… We made a plan to use our meeting time on Tuesday to help with clean up in the community. With storm coming through that night we had to cancel those plans…
Being scouts we are limited on what we can do, basically we were limited to just picking up trash and piling up the larger materials on the edge of the street. With a plan ish we met in one of the neighborhoods hit hardest and went to work. These young people went to work with an amazing attitude and kept the banter going the entire evening. I had a goal to get this little creek area cleaned up before we went home, well the hot that done way faster than I could have imagined, so we got fresh bags and walked the entire neighborhood picking up the trash on the edge of the roads. Due to my concerns with home owners dealing with insurance adjusters we stayed out of yards and didn’t mess with anything that wasn’t trash. The entire evening was an amazing success and I’m so proud of the scouts. It’s hard to find the words how happy my heart is. In the hard times you will find the strongest leaders, they will do what ever it takes to get done with the task at hand.
Couldn’t have done any of this without the help of the adult volunteers that made this program happen. We also had an amazing person donate all of the trash bags and gloves used, I called and before I could even finish my speech about what we’re going to do he asked what I needed and supplied it with out hesitation. Thank you so much Bradley it means the world that companies like Afisco donate to an amazing cause with out hesitation.
If there is somewhere else we can help feel free to reach out through messenger, I can’t promise anything accept we will try to help out.
Thanks again to all the volunteers and scouts that make this program what it is!!!!!

This morning, a group of 26 scouts and leaders embarked on a 10.9 mile hike along Lake Mineral Wells State Trailway, connecting Cartwright Park in Weatherford to Garner. The trail's beauty was remarkable. The weather was perfect, providing ideal conditions for the hike. Scouts had to hike in their lunches. Some made ramen on the trail and some brought healthy snacks. We finished the hike with a sense of accomplishment, despite some discomfort, and left as proud leaders and parents. We look forward to another hike to complete the 20 mile trail from Garner to Mineral Wells.

I need to start this post with an apology, we had an Eagle Court of Honor for an amazing young man. I have been so busy/forgot to post on here about Sam’s court of honor. Sam came to 303 as a life scout that had been well on his way to Eagle for a long time, life gets in the way and drives your motivation down. For reasons we will never know Sam’s path crossed with 303’s and a relationship was forged. This extremely talented young man stepped into our troop like he’s been there from the beginning. He picked right back up where he had left off and plowed through the rest of the requirements to earn his eagle, with zero problems and smile on his face that the entirety of 303 have enjoyed since he first walked Into our lives. To say I’m proud or honored to have been at his side down the last leg of his Eagle Journey is an understatement of a life time. I can’t wait to see where his journey takes him, with wings of an Eagle I would bet it’s nothing short of greatness.
Normally this is where I would stop and let y’all enjoy a couple of pictures, but I received a call this afternoon from the above mentioned Eagle.
Asking if I had a couple mins I could come by his house be the had some amazing news and wanted me there to share the moment. All of my scouts know that if I’m free I will come support them in everything they do… this was one of those moments, well it was way more. Sam is a part of THE CHURCH OF JESUS CHRIST of LATTER-DAY SAINTS, and he decided to serve a mission and he found out tonight which mission he will be serving at. It was such an amazing experience for me, and I was honored to be there. This young man will be serving a Mission in Montana, I know he will be a huge help to them, I just hope they’re prepared for such an accomplished young man.
Sam go conquer the world, just remember to enjoy every moment you can and spread as much happiness and jou as you can. Also keep us updated and send as many pictures/stories as you can.
