Effingham County Fire Rescue was established in 2001, under the direction of the Effingham County Board of Commissioners. ECFR was created after consolidating the original fire departments: North Effingham, Clyo, South Effingham, Faulkville, Meldrim, and West Effingham. Since 2001, we have grown to 14 stations and operate a combination department with both full time and volunteer firefighters.
