Come to Me and Find Rest

Dear Brothers and Sisters in Christ,

In this Sunday's Gospel (Matthew 11:25-30), Jesus offers one of the most comforting invitations in all of Scripture: “Come to me, all you who labor and are burdened, and I will give you rest.” These words speak directly to our hearts, especially in a world filled with anxiety, busyness, and uncertainty.

Jesus reminds us that God reveals Himself not to the proud and self-sufficient, but to those who approach Him with humble and trusting hearts. The Lord does not ask us to carry our burdens alone. Instead, He invites us to bring our worries, fears, struggles, and disappointments to Him. When we unite our lives to Christ, our burdens do not disappear, but they become lighter because He helps us carry them.

As a parish family, we are called not only to seek rest in Christ but also to become instruments of His peace for others. Through our kindness, encouragement, prayers, and acts of service, we can help those who are weary and burdened experience the love of God. Our parish should be a place where people encounter welcome, healing, and hope.

May we take time each day to sit at the feet of Jesus, especially in prayer and before the Eucharist. There we learn from the One who is “meek and humble of heart” and discover the peace that only He can give. Let us accept His invitation and find true rest in Him.
