Who's joining us for lunch today?? We are trying to get in the summer spirit here at South Side! Today we're having chili dogs, coleslaw, roasted potatoes, and a brownie. Stop by and have some lunch, see some friends, and enjoy yourself!

As always, lunch is a $4 suggested donation for seniors 60yrs and over. For those under 60, it is an $8 charge. Lunch is served from 11am to 12:15.

Memorial Day Closure Notice

Our offices and Senior Centers will be closed so staff can observe Memorial Day with their families. We honor the meaning of this day and encourage everyone to take a moment of reflection and gratitude.

Let's meet David Ward! David is a member of our board here at South Side Senior Center. Here are David's answers to some "get to know you" questions we asked him...

1. What was your first job, and what did it teach you?
"Clerk at a grocery store. It taught me responsibility and the importance of listening to others"

2. What's the biggest change you've seen in the world during your lifetime?
"Wars...Korea, Vietnam. Utter turmoil"

3. Is there a place you've visited that left a lasting impression on you?
"Korea in the military. The way they live, survive, and take care of each other is amazing to see."

4. What message would you share with someone who's just starting out in adulthood?
"Be cautious, be respectful. Don't discriminate. Love everyone and live with a smile on your face. Don't judge on looks."
