Springfield Police Department

The Springfield Police Department is part of a long history of Law Enforcement in New England, dating back to the city's founding in 1636. The SPD developed from the early years of "law and order" in the settlement to a modern day law enforcement agency. Beginning with the days of the Constable, the role of Marshalls, to the emergence of police officers as a profession, the SPD been a part of the develop of Law Enforcement in the USA.
