The City of Chandler invites you to celebrate the grand opening of McClanahan Park on July 4th! The park is named in honor of Jerry McClanahan, Chandler resident and Route 66 author, artist, historian, and Oklahoma Route 66 Hall of Fame inductee.

The grand opening will take place from 7–9 p.m. and will feature guest speakers, a ribbon cutting, and a free concert by local band RedLand. Attendees will also get to see the park’s 30-foot-tall statue of the 66 Man, a superhero character created by McClanahan. 66 Man merchandise will also be available for purchase. Free shuttle bus service will be provided to transport attendees to and from the park. Full shuttle and parking information will be provided soon.

The fireworks show will still take place at Bell Cow Lake at 10 p.m. There will be no fireworks at the park, and the fireworks at the lake are not visible from the park. Please plan accordingly so you do not miss the show.

Springfield Brewing Company, aka: BrewCo, in Springfield, MO made this limited edition Route 66 collector set…made right here in Springfield, Missouri. It’s located a block off Route 66. BTW, they have GREAT food at the Brewing Company too!

Maybe you’ll drink yours, I’m sure it tastes great, but I’m just going to look at mine. 🤩

I photographed this car during the 2026 Route 66 Arizona Fun Run in Seligman, Arizona. There were so many unique, cool, and/or beautiful vehicles to photograph!!

These aren’t my photos, but if you have the chance, be sure to stop! It’s so cool!!! It’s right on Route 66 a couple blocks west of the square in Springfield, MO. Even when it’s closed, I can’t help but stop and photograph the front of the building…

It’s beside a parking garage and across the street from a movie theater.

I preordered this set, even tho it’s made right here in Springfield, MO! I can’t wait to receive it!!! And no, I have no plans to even open any of the bottles, but it’ll make a very nice addition to my collection of Route 66 memorabilia 😍

Here’s a detail we’re pretty proud of. The back labels of all four bottles in the Ty Iechyd Da Distillery Centennial Spirits Line connect to form a complete Route 66 map. Bourbon, gin, vodka, blanco. Each one is a piece. You need all four to see the whole picture.

It’s a small thing. It’s also not a small thing.

This is a limited Centennial release. Once it’s gone, it’s really gone. The kind of thing you’ll wish you grabbed when you had the chance.
